AFCON 2027: the sponsorship window is open

AFCON 2025 in Morocco set commercial records, according to CAF. The 2027 edition in Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda is already selling.

The Africa Cup of Nations is the continent's biggest football tournament, and its commercial value is rising fast. According to CAF, the 2025 edition in Morocco recorded a 95% increase in commercial revenue, a record 23 sponsorship partners and a cumulative TV audience of 3.2 billion.

Sponsorship is sold in tiers

CAF sold AFCON 2025 in four tiers: one title sponsor, global partners, competition sponsors and official suppliers. This structure lets brands of very different sizes take part, from global groups to regional companies.

European organisations are already part of the picture. The European Union itself was listed among the official global partners of AFCON 2025.

Three hosts, one roadshow

AFCON 2027 will take place from 19 June to 17 July 2027 in Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda, the first edition co-hosted by three East African countries. CAF and the local organising committees have already held a commercial roadshow in the three host nations to meet potential partners.

What it means for brands

For a brand targeting East Africa, the sales window for 2027 is open now. The tiered structure means the question is not only whether to sponsor, but at which level, and how to activate locally in each host country.
