Our commitments

Sport reaches young people, brings communities together and builds local economies. Because ASIG connects brands with African sport, we want those partnerships to create value for the properties, fans and communities behind them, not only for sponsors.

This page sets out how we run our business, how we advise our clients and the Sustainable Development Goals we focus on. We will only report impact once we can measure it.

Responsible partnerships

Fit before fee

We recommend what suits the brand and the property. Properties never pay to be recommended, and any relationship with a property, including family ties, is disclosed.

Sensitive categories

We work with betting and alcohol brands only on campaigns that respect local law and responsible-gaming principles, and never target minors. We do not work with tobacco brands.

Child protection

We do not support activations that exploit young athletes or fans, or put them at risk.

Data and privacy

We handle personal data in line with the EU's General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and share a property's profile only with its agreement.

Sustainable Development Goals

Where we focus

The United Nations 2030 Agenda recognises sport as an important enabler of sustainable development. We focus on four of its seventeen goals, where sport sponsorship can make a real difference.

SDG 5

Gender equality

We help bring investment to women's clubs, leagues and events, which remain underfunded.

What we will track: the share of our briefings and shortlists that include women's properties.

SDG 8

Decent work and economic growth

We help smaller clubs, federations and academies present themselves professionally, so that sponsorship reaches beyond the best-funded few.

What we will track: the number of properties we help become sponsorship-ready.

SDG 13

Climate action

We bring environmental criteria into our sponsorship advice and keep our own footprint low.

What we will track: our own emissions, and the share of our profiles that include an environmental indicator.

SDG 17

Partnerships for the goals

We bring brands, sports properties and communities together around partnerships that create shared value.

What we will track: the number of partnerships we facilitate with a social or environmental component.

We also support good health and well-being (SDG 3) through access to sport, and quality education (SDG 4) through academies and education-through-sport programmes.

ASIG is not affiliated with or endorsed by the United Nations.

Our footprint

We are a small, remote-first business, and we intend to keep our footprint small too.

  • We work remotely and choose video calls over flights where possible.
  • We will measure the emissions from our travel and work to reduce them.
  • We keep our website light and our processes paperless.
  • Our Property Intelligence Profiles will include an environmental indicator, covering energy, waste, fan mobility and community programmes.
  • We only recommend environmental claims that can be measured and verified.

Sponsorship with impact
